Joya is 2!

Yesterday was Joya's birthday, we celebrated with a Luau! This was Joya's idea after going to the OSU's Luau. We had a great time, it was close family and three of Joya's friends that we see on a weekly basis. We had a quick party from 5:30 to 7:30, we started with dinner; I made a teriaki chicken, rice, and cut up some fruit. It was a very simple menu. Then we quickly moved on to cake as it was tempting to all kids as it sat on the table we at our dinner at. Then it was on to presents, Tia just kept Joya busy with handing her one right after another so that she didn't get distracted with wanting to play with any of them. Joya got several nice outfits and wonderful toys...she's set for quiet a while! Then all the kids headed outside to play on Joya's new swing set(it's new to us). My father in-law found it at a garage sale for $25 and we re-painted it blue, it looks really nice now and the kids loved it!! Joya has pushed her boundaries with it, in swinging the teeter totter as hard as she and then standing there and letting it come back and hit her in the face!! She's still learning how strong she it! When all the kids were outside, I stayed in and fed Timmy, which was a nice break of quiet and relaxation after go, go, going all day!!
We started the morning with both kids having a doctors appointment, Joya's 2yr, and Timmy's 2 month. They both got shots! Timmy had three, one in each leg and then one oral. Then Joya got hers and she laid there very nice and still for them and then the lady was not good and re stuck her twice, but Joya did great. While the needle was in Joya screamed out, "Ouch that hurts a lot!" The nurse tried not to laugh because it did hurt, especially how she gave it to her. Joya cried hard and told me the bandaid was what was hurting her, so she wanted me to take it off. I took it off, showed her the little spots of blood and she told me she felt better and that is what was hurting her!! It was funny. Timmy is huge, he weighs 15lbs 13oz. and is 24.5 inches long, they didn't give me the percentages of that, but I am pretty sure he is up there!! Joya weighed 31lbs and 8oz and was 36inches tall!! They didn't give me the percentages of the her measurements either, but I will ask my sister if she knows what they are. Joya's doctor told her that her pubby has to stay in her bed from now on, now that she is 2. I prompted that conversation, but because a Doctor said it, she will do it!!
We then headed from the doctors to a new park over on that side of town with our MOPs group. For a while I thought I had the wrong park but then Diana showed up with her daughter Audrie, whom I think Joya is now in love with. Audrie did a great job of playing the Joya who is 2 yrs younger than her.
After the park it was home for lunch and then cleaning up and decorating!! Auntie Kalen came over to help me because I foresaw it being very difficult with both kids to get everything done in time, but of course since she came the kids were perfect. Timmy slept the whole time and Joya played outside on the swing set, until she went down for a nap. Then right when we were done with everything my mother in-law came and played with Timmy so I could get a shower and not smell bad for the party. I even got a little rest!!
WE ended the day by putting both kids in the bath. Then we got Joya ready for bed by the usual reading and praying with her. After an hour of her talking and calling us back into the room we invited her to come out and watch a little TV with us and relax. It took her a long time to wind down. We put her back in bed at 9:50 and finally after 10:15 we didn't hear her talking anymore. She is now up at 7:30 like usual...it could be a long day, but it was worth it!

Wow! Timmy IS big! The percentile calculator I have says 97th for weight and 84th for height! Jeffrey was only 11.5 pounds and 23.25 inches -- Go, Timmy, Go!

Joya is super cute. How fun that she is now 2! Her cake was adorable. My calculator has her at the 93rd percentile for both height and weight. You're obviously feeding them both well!!
